Resort Spotlight - Disney’s Art of Animation Resort

Disney’s Art of Animation is full of vibrant colors and entertaining characters that will make you squeal like a kid again!

Disney’s Art of Animation Resort known to many as AOA is made up of 4 distinct areas with 2 separate types of room styles. All the rooms are themed after Disney-Pixar films. Finding Nemo, Cars, The Lion King, and the Little Mermaid.

AOA has family suites and standard rooms that sleep 4. The family suites will immerse you in the story that each room is telling.

First up and closest to Animation Hall and The Landscape of Flavors food court is the Finding Nemo Family Suites.

Think coral reef! With its ocean-like colors and sea creatures, these buildings are hard to miss! These suites have a bedroom, 2 bathrooms, a murphy bed, a pull-out couch, 2 televisions, and a mini kitchen with a small sink, microwave, coffee maker, and a mini-fridge.

The next building is The Lion King Building.

This distinct area will make you feel like you are on the savannah. With the tree limbs, and the characters lurking about you will be watching out for Simba! The buildings are painted in light green and sky blue with animals painted on the sides. Inside each room is the same as the Finding Nemo family suites but the décor is much different. Think giraffes, tropical birds, green leaves, and Pumbaa on your shower curtain larger than life!

Now onto “Life is a Highway”! Yes, that is what you will be singing as you are taking a walk down route 69 to your Cars themed family suite! The rustic browns in the buildings will make you feel like you are right in the movie! You can take your picture with most of the gang from the Cars movie while walking to your room! There is even a Cozy Cone pool! The cars suites are set up the same as the other family suites but with the best theming by far! These rooms will bring you right into a race car! The couch has seats that look like they are right out of the car. The floors are checkered and the spiffy in a jiffy on the bathroom vanities will delight everyone! All 3 of these buildings have rooms inside of closed in hallways.

Finally, is the beautiful but a little walk from the main buildings are the Little Mermaid rooms. These rooms are standard rooms that sleep 4. They are themed just as well as the family suites. Vibrant blues and greens with the seashell headboards are every girl’s dream! A larger than life Ariel on your shower curtain ties the whole room together! These rooms have exterior entrances to each room.

The best part of this property is that almost every building has its own pool area. The Big Blue Pool plays music underwater! How cool is that? The Cozy Cone pool has little cone cabanas so to speak. The Little Mermaid pool has large sculptures of Ursula and King Triton. There are laundry facilities, lockers, showers, and restrooms at each of the 3 pools.

Shopping at AOA is a breeze Ink and Paint gift shop has everything under the sun! In my opinion, The Landscape of Flavors is one of the best food courts on Disney property.

Overall, this a great value resort! Big bang for your buck!
